Vranov nad Dyjí is one of the most remarkable secular buildings of the Central European Baroque. It arose gradually in the late 17th and 18th century via a reconstruction of an earlier castle first mentioned in the year 1100. Its unique features are the remnants of medieval fortifications, the stunning architecture of the Hall of Ancestors and the Chapel, both designed by the great Viennese architect Johann Bernhard Fischer of Erlach, and richly decorated Neo-Classical and Tomantic interiors of the late 18th and 19th century.as well as a rich collection of earthenware from the renowned Vranov factory (1799-1882)
